Saison Rum Original - Case of 6
To create this rum a careful selection of spirits is initially made from three different areas in the Caribbean islands of Barbados, Trinidad and Jamaica. The purpose of the Master Blender is to bring the authenticity of these areas into a perfect balance, thanks to the richness and intensity of the distillation of molasses in pot stills combined with the delicacy and lightness of the cane distillation in column stills. The selected rum is matured for the first 5 years in American white oak barrels. The maturation takes place in their original areas and benefits from the specific heat and humidity levels of the Caribbean islands that provide a unique oxidation to the future rum, accelerating maturity and concentrating the flavours. The aged rum then travels across the ocean to France to be blended by Cognac Master Jerome Tessendier. His intention is to create a unique harmony using the same methods as for cognac, blending the different areas with their varied floral, fruity and spicy aromatic profiles. The blend then matures for nine months in old French oak barrels on the banks of the Charente River. This finish provides stability and balance, while a touch of rancio, characteristic of old cognacs, is displayed. The alcohol level of the rum is then gradually decreased to 42%; no sugar is added.
